Welcome to the final class of our A1 English course.


Today, we’ll review everything we’ve learned in this course, including key vocabulary and grammar. We’ll also do some practice exercises and take both an oral and written assessment.

Review of Key Vocabulary

Let’s start by reviewing the key vocabulary from our course. We’ve covered many different topics, so let’s see how much you remember.

Greetings and Introductions:

Exercise:
Match the vocabulary word with its correct definition:

1. A place where you buy food.
2. Weather with rain.
3. A person who helps you when you are sick.

Review of Key Grammar

Now, let’s review some of the key grammar points we’ve learned. These are the building blocks of your English language skills

Simple Present Tense:
I go, you go, he/she/it goes.

Present Continuous Tense:
I am going, you are going, he/she/it is going.

There is ◦ There are:
There is a book on the table. There are two chairs in the room.

Prepositions of Place:
In, on, under, next to.

Comparatives and Superlatives:
Bigger, biggest, more beautiful, most beautiful.

Demonstrative Pronouns:
This, that, these, those.

Exercise:
Fill in the blanks with the correct form of the verb or preposition:

1. He ___ (go) to school every day.
2. There ___ (be) three books on the table.
3. The cat is ___ (on/under) the table.

Practice Exercises

Let’s do some practice exercises to make sure you’re comfortable with the material. These exercises will cover both vocabulary and grammar.

Exercise 1: Vocabulary Matching
Match the words to their meanings:

1. A vehicle that takes many people.
2. A place where you can read books.
3. A person who helps you when you are sick.

Exercise 2: Sentence Completion
Complete the sentences with the correct word:

1. She ___ (read) a book every night.
2. The park is ___ (more/most) beautiful than the garden.
3. There ___ (is/are) two apples on the table

Exercise 3: Dialogue Practice
Fill in the blanks to complete the conversation:

A: What do you do in the morning?

B: I usually ___ at 7:00 and then ___ breakfast.

Oral Assessment

Now, it’s time for the oral assessment. I will ask you some questions, and you will answer them using what we’ve learned in this course.

Oral Questions:

◦ Can you describe your daily routine?
◦ What’s your favorite place in town, and why?
◦ Tell me about the weather today.
◦ How do you get to school or work?
◦ What do you do in your free time?

Instructions:

Take turns answering these questions with a partner or in front of the class.
Try to use full sentences and the vocabulary we’ve learned.

Written Assessment

Next, we have the written assessment. Please complete the following questions on your own. Take your time and do your best!

Written Questions:

1. Write about your favorite hobby. What do you like to do, and why?

2. Describe the weather today. Use at least three different weather-related words.

3. Write a short paragraph about your daily routine. Use the simple present tense.

Instructions:

Answer each question in 2-3 sentences.
Be sure to check your spelling and grammar before submitting your answers.

Oral Assessment Feedback:
You did a great job describing your routines and favorite places. Remember to use complete sentences and the correct tense.
